As part of HM King (state visit) to Oman, Bahrain and Oman sign MoU on Capital Markets

Shaikh Khalifa bin Ebrahim Al-Khalifa, CEO of Bahrain Bourse, emphasized Bahrain's commitment to enhancing cooperation and integration with Oman in various sectors, particularly in the economic and financial sector, to meet shared aspirations and further enhancing cooperation between institutions and entities in the capital market sector in both countries.

As part of the (state visit) of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to the Sultanate of Oman, at the invitation of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Bahrain Bourse and Muscat Exchange. The MoU was signed by Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, and on the Omani side by Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion.

The MoU aims to enhance cooperation between capital markets in both countries to offer comprehensive and innovative services that will support efficiency and growth in both markets, in accordance with the GCC countries' collaborative efforts to strengthen the relationship between institutions and systems and enhance collaborative efforts across GCC capital markets and comes in line with bolstering the goals and objectives set towards the Financial Services Sector Development Strategy 2022-2026 in terms of strengthening GCC linkages. It also aims to attract investments and enhance the economic development in both counties by facilitating processes and expanding the services offered to investors.
